How it all began...

It was a Fall day that turned into Spring before we knew it. Musical paths always take various turns and occasionally hit bumps along the way. It just so happened that a few friends hit a few bumps in the road at about the same time back in 2001. Never fret the bumps or the dust on your knees because the view of the road as the horse hurtles on down it can sometimes be gratifying if not down right entertaining.

Our first attempts at creating a new musical venture were a real growing experience but we had great friends along for the ride. Our attempts at giving ourselves a name were even more adventurous however. Suffice it to say that we got everyone using their noggins and boy did they ever.

It was our own Tom Jones that came up with our name. There is a seaside town on the West Coast of Ireland by the name of Roundstone in the County Connemara and a somewhat famous bodhran maker from that area. You see, Tom being our bodhran player extraordinaire thought the name a bit catchy if not somewhat appropriate. And as for the Buskers...well it seemed to fit as we found ourselves busking our way through towns trying to gain some notice. And we seemed to do a pretty good job of it at the time.

Our friends Tom Abbot and Jeff Putnam took a pause by the time Spring rolled around. Tom and Shannan continued on and eventually met up with a son of a wonderful friend who really seemed to have a passion for the music. Tommy G, aka Tom Grafton, came on board that early March 2002 in a little corner spot at Jimmy's Bar. We had quite the adventures with Tommy G the next few years--from Pub, festival and the Upper UP to a happy run-in with Patrick Murphy (Gaelic Storm) in the rolling hills of Galena. Of course we can't forget the Geoghegan's near the Gateway City. It was all so much fun.
